In the rural landscapes of Uttar Pradesh, where marginalized communities continue to face systemic exclusion and inequality, Jan Vikas Sansthan was established with a clear vision to promote dignity, equity and inclusive development for women, children, adolescents and youth.

For over two decades, we have been working closely with Dalit and Musahar communities, who remain among the most underserved. Despite constitutional provisions and various government welfare initiatives, significant gaps persist in access to quality education, healthcare and sustainable livelihood opportunities. Adolescents, particularly girls, continue to face challenges such as early marriage, limited awareness and restricted avenues for personal and professional growth.

At Jan Vikas Sansthan, we believe that sustainable change must be rooted in community participation. Our approach focuses on strengthening grassroots institutions, building local leadership and enhancing awareness of available services and development opportunities. Through women’s collectives, adolescent groups and youth platforms, we aim to foster confidence, agency and self-reliance among community members.

Currently, more than 50000 women, adolescents and youth across the Jaunpur, Azamgarh and Ambedkar Nagar district are actively engaged with our initiatives. Through structured capacity-building programs, education support, health awareness and livelihood interventions, they are emerging as informed and empowered individuals contributing to community transformation.

While our journey has been marked by persistent challenges including social discrimination, low literacy levels and entrenched gender norms the resilience and determination of the communities we serve continue to inspire our work. Each empowered individual represents a step forward in our collective mission towards inclusive and equitable development.
